How to make a Flower Pillow

Floor Flower Pillow

In future posts you will be able to follow along as I redo my new daughters room. I have lots of great plans for it; but right now I want to share the floor pillow I made for her room. If I do say so myself, it turned out a-amazing! Let’s get down to how to make this pillow.

You will need the following:

  • 3 Yards of one color material
  • 1 yard of another color material
  • 1 bag poly-fil
  • spool of heavy duty thread.
  • Needle
  • Sewing machine (optional)

I looked everywhere for a pattern to follow but could not find what I wanted so I made my own pattern. You can find a pattern here. You will need to adjust the size according to how small or big you want your pillow to be.

After you have cut out your petals and the center; lay them out in the floor and pin them all together. You should have a total of 10 petals and 2 centers. After pinning your 5 petals sew them all together except closing the last two petals together. Now sew the center into it. Once you have sewn the center go ahead and sew the last two petals together.

This is what it should look like.

Now do the process above again so that you have two flowers.

Once you have sewn the 2 flowers you will pin the 2 together. After you pin them together, sew the 2 flowers together. Leave about two inches open to add your poly-fil.

Put your poly-fil into the flower. You can add as much or little as you want; but keep in mind that it will flatten out after it is used a bit, so a little more is probable a good bet.

This is what it will look like now.

Then you will want to take a needle and the heavy duty thread and go around the center in large sections.

Let me know your thoughts on this project and if you try it I would love to see your finished project!

Have a Magical Day!
